MY REVIEW - PART 1 of 2
Watched it last night with a friend in a almost full theater, and overall Neighbors 2 was a pretty good, solid and funny comedy. There were a lot of laughs in the theater and from the sound of it people seemed pleased and satisfied with the movie. I saw no disappointed faces nor heard any bad-mouth it as we exited the theaters.
To warm up for this movie, we watched the first Neighbors a few days ago, so we were in sync with the previous story and the characters.
And for those who have seen the first Neighbors, I would say that Neighbors 2 does not disappoint. I don't think it's really better than the first one nor is it any worse. They are kinda on the same level just with different stories.
I think Neighbors 2 had more "action" and better fun scenes than the first Neighbors movie, but it also had longer slow
periodes where it almost gets too serious or tries to sell its morale too much, though never really crossing any lines where you think it's too much - but it did have too many dead periods
compared to the first one, so while it also had more fun and action overall I would put it on the same level as the first Neighbors.
if you have watched the trailers and interviews you have already seen most of the movie, though there are still several fun and action packed scenes you get to see more of and in full and the right order, so it's not a total rerun

mentions yes I was also a bit annoyed that there was several scenes cut from the movie that we see in the trailer, I haven't gone over how many, but top of my head: Shelby fight with Seth running up wall and kicking him is not in the movie LL Cool J finding his daughters, Beth/Kiersey, dildos is not in the movie The girls figuring out the name of the sorority and chest bumping was goneNora giving Seth the double fuck fingers as she flies out the car gone - but only that part of the sceneSeth failing with airbags in couch gagCops in the tank
