Sorry guys I never gave you my If I Stay spoiler-free review like I promised. I figured I would do it now before I forget to much about it.
First let me say I have seen both If I Stay and The Fault In Our Stars. Both movies to me are actually pretty good. I know they are marketed and viewed as young adult/chick flicks, but the movies to me are a bit more than that. I did feel the love story in TFIOS was a little cheesier, but the chemistry was there. I actually feel the same way between the chemistry of Jamie Blackley and Chloë. The movie might not be as sad as TFIOS, but it does get to you in a few places though maybe reading the book beforehand probably helped take away from the sadness a bit. I did not read TFIOS before I saw that movie.
Chloë gets a lot of screen time as there is not a single scene in the movie I can remember not having her in it. I thought she did exceptionally well especially in the emotional scenes as we could feel her pain. As for her interaction with Adam all I can say is I tried to count the many times they kissed, but after a while I lost count. It had to be well over 10. Surprisingly it actually didn't bother me that much as I said before the chemistry between Chloë and Jamie was believable. And yes she does have sort of a intimate scene a couple of times with Adam. I know some people beforehand said they didn't see Blackley as Adam as he didn't look punk enough, but once you see him perform and sing you actually really believe he is a rising musician.
